​​Lemon Zest Asparagus

Asparagus is a great vegetable to grill. This vegetable is eaten not only for its distinct and delicious flavor, but also for its diuretic properties. This recipe adds one key ingredient that enhances the asparagus' natural flavor: lemon zest. As the lemon zest oil and flavors infuse into the asparagus, a wonderful merging begins leaving a fresh and sweet combination for your pallet.

PREP TIME: 5 Minutes GRILL TIME: 30 Minutes 


  • 10 Asparagus Spears - 30 Calories
  • 1 Tbsp. Olive Oil - 119 Calories
  • 2 Tbsp. Lemon Zest - 6 Calories
  • 1/4 tsp. Sea Salt - 0 Calories
  • ​1/2 tsp. Cracked Black Pepper - 3 Calories

SERVES 2: 79 Calories per Serving


  1. Cut about 1 inch off the bottom of spears.​ Place spears on aluminum foil. ​
  2. Coat with olive oil, lemon zest, salt and pepper. Wrap foil complete around spears.
  3. Place on a baking sheet. 
  4. Charcoal grill with cover down over indirect heat for 30 minutes.

NOTE: May be completed in oven at 350°F for 30 minutes.
