Ginger Red  Plums with Maple Syrup

The taste of plum fruit ranges from sweet to tart. Although we're using the red plum in this recipe, plums come in a rainbow of colors. The red plum is tart and this semi-sweet fleshy fruit is wonderful to grill as a side dish. Its juicy consistency and tartness add a pop of flavor that brings the other elements on your plate to life. Plums belong to the Prunus genus of plants. They are relatives of the peach, nectarine and believe it or not the almond. They're delicious, have several health benefits and fun to cook.
